ICE cotton futures saw gains ranging from 20 to 127 points on Tuesday, with the biggest surge in the low-volume May contract.
Crude oil futures rose by $1.13 per barrel, while the U.S. dollar index gained $0.701 to reach 98.690.
As of April 20, NASS reported that 11% of the U.S. cotton crop had been planted, matching the 5-year average.
Texas planting was at 16%, in line with the average.
Georgia (GA) had only planted 3% compared to a 4% average.
According to The Seam, 1,838 bales were sold online on April 21 at an average price of 61.08 cents per pound.
The Cotlook A Index rose by 35 points on Friday to reach 77.60 cents/pound.
Certified cotton stock on ICE remained steady on April 21 at 14,478 bales.
The USDA’s Adjusted World Price (AWP) rose 33 points last Thursday to 53.43 cents/pound.
