International Cotton Market
ICE cotton futures weakened on Wednesday, with most front-month contracts losing between 45 and 80 points. Crude oil prices also declined by $0.78 per barrel. The U.S. Dollar Index fell $0.074 to settle at 100.873.
In Monday’s online auction hosted by The Seam, 1,415 bales were sold at an average price of 68.86 cents per pound. The Cotlook A Index remained steady on Tuesday at 78.25. On May 13, ICE cotton stocks increased by 5,860 bales through new certifications, bringing total certified stocks to 33,100 bales.
The USDA’s Adjusted World Price (AWP) was lowered by 13 points last Thursday to 54.81 cents per pound.
