International Cotton Market
On Monday, ICE cotton futures closed with losses ranging from 37 to 41 points during the session. External factors had a mixed impact, with the U.S. Dollar Index rising by 45 points, while crude oil increased by $0.53 per barrel.
According to Commitment of Traders data, as of December 24, speculators added 6,263 contracts to their net short positions, bringing the total to 35,520 contracts.
The Seam reported online sales of 4,206 bales on December 27 at an average price of 61.99 cents per pound. Certified ICE cotton stocks remained unchanged on Friday, standing at 20,113 bales.
The Cotlook A Index dropped by 30 points on December 27, settling at 79.30 cents per pound. Meanwhile, USDA’s Adjusted World Price (AWP) decreased by 54 points last week to 54.55 cents per pound, valid through this Thursday.
