According to the USDA, a private export sale of 1.2 lakh (120,000) metric tons of corn from the U.S. to Japan is possible for the 2024/25 shipment year.
As of April 13, corn planting in the U.S. had reached 4%.
During the week of April 10, a total of 1.829 million metric tons of corn was exported, which is 34.02% higher than the previous week and 13.36% higher than the same week last year.
Mexico was the largest importer with 632,450 metric tons, followed by Japan at 265,158 metric tons and Taiwan at 162,389 metric tons.
So far this year, a total of 37.51 million metric tons of corn has been exported, which is 30.49% more than the same period last year.
Ukraine’s corn crop is estimated to increase by 18% from last year, reaching 29.2 million metric tons.
