According to USDA's Crop Progress report released Monday afternoon, 62% of the US soybean crop was blooming, and 26% was setting pods. Crop conditions dropped by 2%, with 68% rated good to excellent. The Brugler500 index fell by 2 points to 373.
Some parts of the Corn Belt received rainfall over the weekend. Forecasts suggest nearly 1 inch of rain in parts of the Eastern Corn Belt later in the week. The Dakotas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and northern Iowa are expected to get between 1 to 2 inches—and up to 4 inches in some areas—early in the week.
USDA reported that soybean export inspections for the week ending July 17 totaled 364,990 MT, up from 338,255 MT in the same week last year and sharply higher than the revised 151,346 MT from the previous week.
