Treasury Secretary Yellen made some comments earlier today, expressing optimism that a deal with China might be possible. These remarks provided some support to the market.
Overall, the market has remained largely stable despite ongoing trade tensions with China.
In the U.S., 8% of the soybean crop had been planted by Sunday, which is ahead of the 5-year average of 5%.
Only Kentucky (KY), Michigan (MI), and Ohio (OH) were behind average planting pace.
Iowa (IA) reported 11% planting (average 3%), and Illinois (IL) 10% (average 7%).
