The USDA’s export sales report will be released Thursday morning. Analysts surveyed by Reuters expect bookings for the 2024/25 marketing year to total between 200,000 and 500,000 metric tons (MT). New crop sales are also estimated in the 350,000–500,000 MT range. Soybean meal sales are expected to fall between 90,000 and 350,000 MT, while soybean oil bookings may range from 0 to 34,000 MT. Indonesia has increased its crude palm oil (CPO) export tax from 7.5% to 10%, effective May 17.
NOPA (National Oilseed Processors Association) data will also be released Thursday. Traders expect soybean crushings in April to total 184.64 million bushels—down 5.1% from the previous month, but 9% higher year-on-year. Soybean oil stocks are projected at 1.412 billion pounds.
The Rosario Grains Exchange has increased its forecast for Argentina's soybean crop by 3 MMT, bringing the new estimate to 48.5 MMT.
