International Soybean Market
Large managed money speculative funds in soybean futures and options increased their net long position by 16,537 contracts during the week ending last Tuesday. By May 13, their total net long position reached 38,407 contracts.
According to USDA's Export Sales report, soybean export bookings now stand at 48.003 million metric tons, which is 95% of the World Agricultural Outlook Board’s updated projection. This is slightly behind the average pace of 98%. Actual shipments, according to the FAS report, are 43.897 MMT—87% of the USDA projection and in line with normal pace.
The Buenos Aires Grain Exchange reports that soybean harvest in Argentina has reached 65%, slightly behind the 70% average pace.
