As of April 13, spring wheat planting in the U.S. had reached 7%, in line with the 5-year average. Winter wheat planting stood at 8%, also matching the average pace. The condition of the winter wheat crop rated good/excellent declined by 1%, bringing it to 47%.
During the week ending April 10, total wheat shipments reached 604,000 metric tons, up 80.4% from the previous week but down 2.53% compared to the same week in 2024. Mexico was the largest destination, receiving 130,000 metric tons, while Japan received 83,533 metric tons. Total shipments for the marketing year now stand at 18.3 million metric tons, a 14.42% increase over the same period last year.
In a report released Monday, APK-Inform estimated that Ukraine’s wheat crop may decline by 1% compared to last year, reaching 21.5 million metric tons.
