Lentil (Masoor) Market – July 2025 Report
★ Lentil prices are rising. IGrain India had consistently predicted firm prices for lentils in its earlier reports.
★ Between 1st July and 30th July, Mumbai Canada container lentils increased by ₹225 to ₹6,400, Australia Jumbo rose by ₹250 to ₹4,400, Australia Nipper gained ₹150 to ₹6,350, and Mundra vessel lentils surged by ₹275 to ₹6,200/quintal.
★ In Sagar mandi, lentils gained ₹500 this month, reaching ₹6,800/quintal.
★ Other mandis also witnessed price increases.
★ In Lalitpur mandi, large-size lentils rose by ₹950, reaching ₹7,100/quintal.

Reasons for the Price Increase:
★ Higher domestic consumption and emerging festive demand.
★ Reduced lentil imports from overseas.
★ Price rally in other pulses, which supported lentils.

Outlook:
★ Canadian and Australian new crops will not arrive before October; crop conditions in both countries are currently normal.
★ Port stocks of imported lentils are depleting.
★ No fresh imports are expected before October.
★ Hence, prices are likely to remain firm and may continue rising until the end of September.
