Bhopal. Accepting the strong request of dal millers, the Madhya Pradesh government has announced exemption from Mandi fee on whole tur (tuvar) brought from other states, but the millers have not been exempted from the destitute fee which is 0.20 percent. Not only this, but some conditions have also been set for exemption in Mandi fee on tuvar.

The State Mandi Board has issued a directive to the secretaries of all Agricultural Produce Marketing Committees (APMC) to this effect, in which it has been said that destitute fee should be recovered at the rate of 20 paise on every Rs 100 of goods from the dal millers who import tuvar from outside.

It has been clarified in the instructions of the Mandi Board that it will be necessary for the dal millers to follow some conditions to get exemption from payment of Mandi fee.

Under this, proof of procuring tuvar will have to be submitted and the documents related to this will include bill of purchase, weigh bridge slip, transport slip and slip of Mandi fee deposited in other state etc.

Along with this, it has also been instructed that the whole tuvar procured from other states will be used by the dal millers only for processing in their units and it will not be used for any other commercial purpose.

It means that it will be prohibited to sell the whole tuvar procured from outside in the open market. Not only this, but the dal millers will also have to regularly upload and update the complete details of the purchase and processing of tuvar on the e-Anujya portal of the Mandi Board.

The colleagues of Krishi Upaj Mandis have been asked to provide information about these conditions to all the dal millers located in their division (jurisdiction) so that there is no confusion or ambiguity.

It is worth mentioning that the dal millers of Madhya Pradesh were demanding exemption from Mandi fee for a long time.
