Mustard prices strengthened in July | Mustard oil also turned costlier
★ While some mandis reported a decline in mustard prices, compared to June and May, July has shown a notable upward trend.
★ In Delhi, 42% conditioned mustard was priced at Rs. 7,250/quintal on 19th July, down Rs. 50 from the previous day. However, this is Rs. 700 higher than the June average and Rs. 950 above May levels.
★ In Charkhi Dadri, mustard remained steady at Rs. 7,450, which is Rs. 825 higher than June and Rs. 1,080 above May.
★ In Bharatpur, mustard fell by Rs. 100 to Rs. 7,050, but the average remained Rs. 650 higher than June and Rs. 905 more than May.
★ Agra too saw a Rs. 100 dip to Rs. 8,150, but its average remains Rs. 800 above June and Rs. 1,050 above May.
★ In mustard oil, Charkhi Dadri expeller oil fell Rs. 10 to Rs. 1,650/10 kg, but is still Rs. 240 above June and Rs. 290 higher than May.
★ In Bharatpur, both Kachchi Ghani and expeller oil rose by Rs. 10, now priced at Rs. 1,690 and Rs. 1,670 respectively. Both saw a rise of Rs. 280 from June and Rs. 320 from May.
★ Overall, mustard seed and oil prices showed strength in July.
★ Crushing demand has supported mustard prices.
★ According to I-Grain India, a slight correction is possible next week, which is expected to be temporary.
★ Prices are likely to rise further in the near future.
