★ सोपा ने सरकार से खाद्य तेलों का आयात बढ़ाने को कहा।
★ पत्र में सोपा के चेयरमैन ने सरकार से कहा कि अक्टूबर 2021 में आयात शुल्क घटाए जाने के बाद 2023 में 158.37 लाख टन तेलों का आयात किया गया जो 2021 में 130.68 लाख टन था।
★ बड़ी मात्र में आयात किए जाने के बाद घरेलू बाजारों में खाद्य तेलों की कीमतें घटी जिसका असर तेल-तिलहन पर पड़ा, किसानों को नहीं मिल रहे अच्छे भाव। लगभग सभी तिलहनों की कीमतें MSP से नीचे। भाव न मिल पाने से किसान घटा सकते हैं तिलहन की बिजाई।
★ विदेशों से बड़ी मात्रा में खाद्य तेलों का आयात किए जाने से घरेलू तेल क्रशिंग उद्योग, एक्सट्रेक्टर्स को हो रहा है नुकसान।

★ In the letter, the Chairman of SOPA told the government that after the import duty was reduced in October 2021, 158.37 lakh tonnes of oils were imported in 2023, which was 130.68 lakh tonnes in 2021.
★ After large quantities of imports, the prices of edible oils fell in the domestic markets, which affected the oilseeds, farmers are not getting good prices. Prices of almost all oilseeds are below MSP. Due to not getting prices, farmers may reduce the sowing of oilseeds.
★ Due to import of large quantities of edible oils from abroad, domestic oil crushing industry, extractors are suffering losses.
