News Capsule: Australia completes record grain export year
★ Chickpea exports surge, lentils decline
★ In the 2024/25 season, chickpea exports jumped from 500,000 tonnes to 20.9 lakh tonnes. India accounted for 14.1 lakh tonnes and Pakistan for 323,000 tonnes, together making up 83 percent of total exports.
★ Meanwhile, lentil exports fell from 15 lakh tonnes to 10.5 lakh tonnes. The main buyers were India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, which together accounted for 85.2 percent of total shipments.
