News Capsule: Malaysia increases CPO export tax
★ Malaysia has increased the crude palm oil (CPO) export tax to 10% for May 2026, as the reference price rose to RM 4,521.89 per tonne (about ₹1,05,900 per tonne) from RM 3,935.19 per tonne (about ₹92,100 per tonne) in the previous month.
★ Under Malaysia’s export tax structure, the duty begins at 3% for prices between RM 2,250 and RM 2,400 per tonne (about ₹52,700–₹56,300), and reaches the maximum 10% when prices exceed RM 4,050 per tonne (about ₹94,900).\
