News Capsule: Malaysia’s Palm Oil Exports Decline in First Half of April
★ Malaysia’s palm oil exports during April 1-15, 2026 fell to 580,018 tonnes, down 35.89% from 904,742 tonnes in the same period last month. The decline was mainly due to lower shipments to the Middle East.
★ Sharp Decline in Middle East Shipments
★ Exports to the Middle East dropped sharply to just 11,550 tonnes.
★ No shipments were made to Egypt and Iran
★ UAE imports fell to 3,000 tonnes
★ Oman imported 2,250 tonnes and Saudi Arabia 6,300 tonnes

India and Subcontinent
★ Exports to India and the subcontinent declined to 107,500 tonnes from 177,600 tonnes in March.
★ Shipments to India were 102,300 tonnes, while no exports were made to Pakistan.
★ Most exports to India were crude palm oil (CPO).

★ Exports to Africa fell to 151,550 tonnes.
★ Shipments to China stood at 54,760 tonnes, with RBD palm stearin forming a major share.

★ Exports to the EU remained nearly stable at 99,375 tonnes.
★ No shipments were made to Turkey during the period.
★ According to market sources, Middle East tensions, rising crude oil prices, and higher freight rates affected palm oil demand.
Malaysia’s palm oil stocks at the end of March stood at 2.267 million tonnes.
