News Capsule: Saskatchewan records bumper crop in 2025.
★ Canada’s Saskatchewan province produced a record 41.9 million tonnes of grains and oilseeds in 2025, up 13.7% from last year and about 24% above the five-year average.
★ Canola output touched a record 12.2 million tonnes, while lentil production rose to 2.9 million tonnes. Spring wheat output stood at 12.7 million tonnes, durum wheat at 5.4 million tonnes, barley at 3.5 million tonnes, and dry peas and oats at 1.8 million tonnes each.
★ Government data shows strong growth in lentils (up 37%), canola (16.7%), barley (16%) and wheat.
★ Exports also remained strong, and the province has set a target to raise total production to 45 million tonnes by 2030.
