News Capsule: Wheat procurement in Madhya Pradesh gains pace; slot capacity increased
★ Wheat procurement at MSP is ongoing across Madhya Pradesh. So far, 8.18 lakh tonnes of wheat has been procured from 188,971 farmers.
★ This year, 6.24 lakh farmers have booked slots to sell 26.23 lakh tonnes of wheat. Farmers who have not yet booked their slots can do so until 30 April 2026.
★ Procurement in the state is being carried out at ₹2625 per quintal, including the MSP of ₹2585 and a bonus of ₹40 per quintal.
★ Last year, total procurement stood at 77 lakh tonnes, while the target for this year has been set at 78 lakh tonnes.
★ Out of the total procured wheat, 6.46 lakh tonnes has already been transported.
★ For storage, along with jute bags, PP/HDPE bags are also being used.
