New Delhi. Raisin prices have been hovering within a narrow range for some time. Given the current situation, prices are unlikely to rise in the near future. New raisins are expected to arrive in Maharashtra's markets by the end of this month, and this year's production is expected to be higher than last year. Raisins are primarily produced in the Sangli, Nashik, and Tasgaon regions of Maharashtra.

Record Prices

Last season, due to a decline in production in the country, raisin prices recorded a record rise, reaching ₹450/₹460 in the markets. Currently, prices in Sangli and Tasgaon markets are quoting at ₹400/₹420. It is noteworthy that in February 2025, raisin prices in the markets were ₹210/₹220 per kg.

Production Estimates

Experts say that raisin production in Maharashtra is estimated to be 17,000/18,000 carts (each cart containing 10 tons) during the current season, while production in 2025 was estimated to be 15,000/16,000 carts. Production in 2024 was estimated to be 18,000/20,000 carts, and in 2023, production was estimated to be 22,000/24,000 carts.

Low Stock

According to information received, the current stock of raisins in Maharashtra's markets is estimated to be 400/500 carts. Meanwhile, at the time of the new harvest in 2025, the stock was estimated to be 900/1,000 carts. In 2024, the stock was estimated to be 2,500/3,000 carts.

No Rise

Traders say that current raisin prices are unlikely to rise. Prices may decline in the coming days as new arrivals increase. Sources say that with the increase in the arrival of new goods, the price of raisins in the markets is predicted to reach ₹300/₹325 in March-April, provided the weather remains favorable for the crop in the coming days. Currently, prices are being quoted at ₹400/₹420 per kg in Sangli and Tasgaon markets.

Exports Affected

Due to record high prices during the current season, raisin exports have been severely affected. According to reports, only 6,309 tons of raisins were exported during April-November 2025. Exports during the year 2024-25 (April-March) were 46,738 tons. Exports in the year 2023-24 were 47,750 tons.
