Paddy Sowing Picks Up Pace, 123.68 Lakh Hectares Covered So Far – Agriculture Department
★ Paddy sowing for the Kharif season has gained momentum across the country.
★ According to the latest data from the Ministry of Agriculture, as of July 11, 2025, paddy has been sown over 123.68 lakh hectares — 11.83 lakh hectares more than the same period last year.
★ On the same date in 2024, the sown area was 111.85 lakh hectares.
★ The normal area for paddy sowing is 403.09 lakh hectares.
★ Favorable weather and timely monsoon rains have accelerated sowing this year.
★ If the rainfall pattern continues, there could be a significant rise in paddy production.
