Prices likely to increase for rice sold to states, public institutions, and under Bharat brand.
According to a letter accessed from sources, the reserve prices under OMSS and other schemes may be as follows:
For state governments, their agencies, and community kitchens, the rice price has been increased from ₹2,250 to ₹2,320 per quintal. Sale capped at 32 lakh tonnes.
For ethanol production, distilleries will now get rice at ₹2,320 per quintal (earlier ₹2,250), with a cap of 52 lakh tonnes.
Small private traders and individuals will get rice at ₹2,890 per quintal (earlier ₹2,800).
NAFED, NCCF, and Kendriya Bhandar will get rice at ₹2,480 (earlier ₹2,400).
Rice with 25% broken will be auctioned at ₹2,890 per quintal (earlier ₹2,800).
Rice with 10% broken will be sold at ₹3,090 (earlier ₹3,000).
Broken rice will be sold in the open market at ₹2,320 (earlier ₹2,250).

 

FCI and the Department of Food will decide the timing of market releases based on stock availability.
20 lakh tonnes of wheat and 30 lakh tonnes of rice will be kept reserved for emergencies.
From July 1, the ₹200 per quintal subsidy to NAFED and others will be discontinued.
