New Delhi. Describing the rejection of certain consignments of Indian spices in importing countries as an unfortunate occurrence, the Union Minister for Food Processing Industries has stated that producers, processing units, and exporters must pay special attention to the quality of both whole spices and value-added spice products.

He emphasized that maintaining consistent high quality is essential for building a global brand. The pressure regarding quality standards is mounting, and there is, in fact, a strict necessity for it.

India is the world's leading producer, exporter, and consumer of spices. In alignment with the changing landscape of the global market, India, too, must adapt its strategy.

For certain spices, India faces not only stiff challenges but also fierce competition from other supplier nations in the international market.

To enhance quality, there is a need to increase the utilization of advanced technology and to discontinue the use of banned or harmful pesticide chemicals on crops.
