Rabi Crop Harvesting Reaches 59%: Agriculture Minister
★ According to the Agriculture Minister, the harvesting of Rabi pulses has reached 91%, oilseeds 87%, coarse grains 70%, and rice 33%. Wheat harvesting has been completed at 38%.
★ The Minister stated that this year, wheat was sown in 32 million hectares.
★ Sowing gained momentum in all major states including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Bihar.
★ Additionally, the area under summer crops has reached 6.022 million hectares, compared to 5.240 million hectares last year. This includes 3.2 million hectares for rice, 1.1 million hectares for pulses, and 0.73 million hectares for oilseeds.
