Rainfall Status in India: IMD
★ According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), from June 1 to July 28, the country has received 7% above-average rainfall — a total of 447.8 mm, compared to the long-period average (LPA) of 418.9 mm.

Region-wise Rainfall Status:
★ East and Northeast India: 23% below normal rainfall.
★ South Peninsular region: 2% above normal.
★ Central India (Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat): 25% above normal.
★ Northwest India (Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh): 19% above normal.
