Rice Import Increase in Nepal
Increased Imports: Over the past 5 months, rice imports to Nepal have surged by 54%. During this period, 163,000 tons of paddy were imported, up from 110,000 tons last year. Rice imports have reached 79,000 tons, up from 42,000 tons last year. The import of rice increased by 60%, and paddy imports grew by 48%.

Sri Lanka Shipment: A shipment of 12,000 tons of rice has arrived at a Sri Lankan port, and loading will begin soon.
Customs Clearance: The customs department has cleared 75,000 tons of rice so far.
Bangladesh Imports: Bangladesh has approved the purchase of 200,000 tons of rice from India, with the first shipment of 27,000 tons already arriving at the Bangladeshi port.
