New Delhi. The Union Agriculture Minister is transferring the amount digitally to the bank accounts of 30 lakh farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana along with the settlement of crop insurance claims worth Rs 3200 crore. This process was started during a program organized in Rajasthan.

This new claim settlement system ensures faster payment process with penalty for delayed subsidy by the states or insurance companies. From the year 2026 till now, Rs 1.83 lakh crore has been paid (disbursed) under this scheme as insurance claim, which has greatly benefited the farmers of the country.

A program was organized in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan to transfer the amount of insurance claim digitally, in which Union Agriculture Minister along with Union Minister of State for Agriculture, Chief Minister of Rajasthan and Agriculture Minister were present among others.

Out of the total insurance claim of Rs 3200 crore, Rs 1156 crore was paid to the farmers of Madhya Pradesh while Rs 1121 crore was transferred to the bank accounts of 7 lakh farmers of Rajasthan.

According to an official statement, farmers of Chhattisgarh received an amount of Rs 150 crore while Rs 773 crore was distributed to farmers of other states of the country.

The Union Agriculture Minister has said that the government has implemented a new easy (simplified) claim settlement system in the interest of farmers in which the claim can be paid in proportion based only on the central subsidy and for this there will be no need to wait for the contribution of premium at the provincial level.

If the state government delays its subsidy contribution from Kharif 2025 season onwards, then it will be fined at the rate of 12 percent.

Similarly, if the insurance companies delay the payment, then they will also have to pay a penalty of 12 percent to the farmers, this will help in paying the insurance claim to the farmers at the proper level.
