South Korea

In the 3rd State Trade TRQ bidding for 2025, India secured the full 13,000 metric tons of sesame exports.

Phase 1: 5,000 MT, proposed delivery by July 20

Phase 2: 8,000 MT, proposed delivery by August 10

 India

Sesame production in the past 8 years (as per Agriculture Department):

2015–16: 8.5 MMT

2019–20: 6.57 MMT

2023–24: 8.47 MMT

2024–25 (estimated): 8.6 MMT

Increased production has kept prices under pressure, which helped India win the tender due to lower prices. However, the demand created by the tender is expected to push prices up.

 Brazil

Sesame production in Brazil is expected to decline by 10 percent this season.

Harvesting in Mato Grosso is likely to be completed by the end of May. Other producing states like Pará will begin harvesting afterward.

Tanzania

Sesame harvesting is ongoing in phases across various regions.

Peak arrivals are expected between late May and early June.

 Pakistan

Sesame sowing has started in parts of Pakistan, and harvesting is expected in August.

From July 2024 to mid-April 2025, the country has exported a total of 254,686 MT of sesame.

 Paraguay

Early sesame harvest in Paraguay is complete, with reports of good yields and quality.

However, rising logistics and transport costs are pushing up export prices.
