Sharp Surge in Castor Oil Exports: SEA
★ India exported a total of 3.09 lakh metric tonnes of castor oil worth Rs. 4,075.78 crore during the first five months of 2025 (January–May), according to data from the Solvent Extractors’ Association of India (SEA). This marks a 19% increase in volume and a 21% rise in value compared to the same period in 2024, when exports stood at 2.58 lakh tonnes.
★ In May 2025 alone, exports reached 68,982 tonnes—the highest monthly figure this year—followed by 63,373 tonnes in April and 65,326 tonnes in March.
★ India’s export performance in 2025 has been notably stronger compared to the past three years, driven by robust global demand and competitive pricing.
