Raipur. In the capital of Chhattisgarh- Raipur, some big speculators are controlling the market of small (green) cardamom, due to which the lives of small traders are likely to be in danger.

Actually, these speculators have their own syndicate and they are making the market go up and down in a planned manner.

In Raipur, there is such a strong phase of speculation in the business of small cardamom that ordinary traders are not getting the opportunity to make their strategy.

In Raipur, the price of a particular brand of cardamom is increasing at a faster rate than the auction centers. It is not an unusual phenomenon for any commodity market to rise or fall and every trader has the right to do business,

but when speculation dominates the market and an atmosphere of unexpected rise and fall in prices is created, then the crisis naturally increases, especially for small traders.

According to informed sources, the price of green cardamom has increased by only Rs. 100-200 per kg in the auction centres of the producing areas during the last one month, whereas the price of small cardamom of a special brand in Raipur has jumped from Rs. 1200-1300 per kg to a peak of Rs. 1800 per kg.

This has not only surprised but also worried the small traders. This strong rise in the market does not seem natural to them but artificial or virtual (fake).

The small traders also fear that the syndicate of big speculators may reduce the price of green cardamom rapidly after some time.

In such a situation, the goods which are bought at the current high price may have to be sold at a loss in the future. A few months ago, such an incident had also come to light in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.

In the coming time, if the price of cardamom comes down again to Rs. 1200-1300 per kg, then the small traders will suffer a loss of lakhs of rupees.

Trade analysts believe that such artificial fluctuations affect the transparency and stability of the market and create serious problems for small traders, hence the administration and the associations and organizations related to the commodity market should immediately pay attention to this issue.
