There is no shortage of anything in the country - Agriculture Minister

New Delhi. Amidst the ongoing conflict with Pakistan, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan stated that both soldiers on the border and farmers in the fields are fully alert,


and the Agriculture Ministry is leaving no stone unturned to support the nation. He emphasized that food grain reserves in the country are full, and there is adequate stock of crops and vegetables.


According to the Agriculture Minister, there is ample stock of rice, wheat, and pulses, and there is no shortage of any essential commodity in the country.


Prices remain stable, and all essential items will be made available to the public in sufficient quantity and at reasonable prices. He assured that food security is fully ensured.


The Minister added that discussions will be held with the Chief Ministers of border states such as Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat, and official-level talks will also take place to assess and ensure the availability of essential commodities.


He stressed that the entire country is united and that the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is fully prepared to provide support.


The Minister further said that his ministry is ready to offer all possible assistance to farmers and will ensure that they do not face any difficulty during the current situation.


After reviewing information from officials regarding the production of food grains, fruits, vegetables, and the sowing of crops, he instructed that proper arrangements be made for the benefit of farmers.


Just as the Indian Army is responding strongly at the border, the Agriculture Ministry is committed to addressing farmers' needs. This year’s production has been strong, and government procurement from farmers is ongoing.
