Gram prices soften due to slow buying

New Delhi. During the current week, the prices of gram declined due to increase in profit-booking and slow buying at higher prices. Due to weak demand for gram dal and gram flour, the buying by millers was limited this week, due to which pressure was seen on prices. Farmers are selling gram at a slow pace. Due to which there is no pressure of arrival in the producing markets. Looking at the reasons, there is no possibility of much decline in the prices of gram at present. Due to weak buying by dal millers, during the current week, the prices of Delhi gram declined by 50/100 rupees per quintal and at the weekend the prices remained at Madhya Pradesh line 5700 rupees and Rajasthan line 5800/5850 rupees per quintal.

Port

Due to increased selling by importers and weak buying, the prices of imported gram declined by Rs. 50 per quintal during the current week and with this decline, the prices remained at Tanzania Rs. 5700, Nava Seva Australia Rs. 5925/50 and Mundra Rs. 5750 per quintal at the end of the week.

Rajasthan

Due to sluggish demand from dal millers and stockists, the prices of Rajasthan gram declined by Rs. 50/100 per quintal this week and with this decline, the prices remained at Jodhpur Rs. 4800/5250, Jaipur Rs. 5800, Bikaner Rs. 5600/5800, Kishangarh Rs. 5275/5425 and Kota Rs. 5200/5600 per quintal at the end of the week.

Maharashtra

Due to increased selling pressure and sluggish demand, prices of Maharashtra gram declined by Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and with this decline, the prices at the weekend remained at Solapur Rs. 5500/6150, Akola Rs. 6075/6150, Nagpur Rs. 6050/6075, Udgir Rs. 5800/5900 and Ahmednagar Rs. 5700/5900 per quintal.

Madhya Pradesh

Due to increased selling and weak buying, prices of Madhya Pradesh gram declined by Rs. 150/200 per quintal this week and with this decline, the prices remained at Ashoknagar Rs. 5700/5850, Ganjbasoda Rs. 5500/5700, Sagar Rs. 5400/5700, Katni Rs. 6000/6075 and Indore Rs. 5950/6200 per quintal.

Others

Due to the impact of all-round decline and weak buying, prices of Raipur gram declined by Rs. 75 per quintal during the current week and with this decline, the prices remained at Rs. 6000/6225 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Kanpur gram also declined by Rs. 75 per quintal this week and remained at Rs. 6075 per quintal at the weekend.

Gram Dal

Due to the impact of fall in the price of gram and increase in demand, prices of gram dal have fallen by Rs. 50/100 per quintal during the current week and the prices at the weekend remained at Delhi Rs. 6900/7200, Bhatapara Rs. 7150, Katni Rs. 7350, Gulbarga Rs. 6900/7100, Jalgaon Rs. 7350, Indore Rs. 7000/7250, Jaipur Rs. 6825 and Kanpur Rs. 7000/7100 per quintal.
