Gram continues to rise as demand remains strong

New Delhi. The gram market is also showing a bullish trend this week. Prices are continuously increasing due to limited arrival of gram in the major producing markets of the country. On the other hand, the stock of imported gram available at the port is also in a weak condition, due to which there is pressure on supply in the market. New gram from Australia is expected to come to the market from the month of October, before which the market is not expected to get any major relief from imports. Apart from this, gram prices are getting additional support in view of the festive season demand in the country like Raksha Bandhan, Janmashtami and Ganesh Chaturthi. Prices may see further strength due to shortage of stock and increasing demand. Due to better buying by dal millers, prices of Delhi gram registered a rise of Rs. 175 per quintal this week and with this rise, the prices became Madhya Pradesh line Rs. 6300/6325 and Rajasthan line Rs. 6350/6375 per quintal at the end of the week.
Port
Due to weak availability at the port and slow selling by the importers, prices of imported gram registered a rise of Rs. 125/175 per quintal this week and with this rise, the prices became Mumbai Tanzania Rs. 6225/6250, Nawasheva Australia Rs. 6375/6400 and Mundra Rs. 6175/6200 per quintal.
Rajasthan
Due to strong demand from dal millers and stockists, Rajasthan gram prices rose by Rs. 150/200 per quintal this week and with this rise, the prices at the weekend became Jodhpur Rs. 5300/5850, Jaipur Rs. 6425, Bikaner Rs. 5700/6000, Kishangarh Rs. 5950/6025 and Kota Rs. 5500/5950 per quintal.
Maharashtra
Due to weak availability and better buying, Maharashtra gram prices rose by Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and with this rise, the prices at the weekend became Solapur Rs. 5800/6650, Latur Rs. 6400/6500, Akola Rs. 6475/6500, Nagpur Rs. 6475/6500 and Ahmednagar Rs. 6100/6300 per quintal.
Madhya Pradesh
Due to better buying, prices of Madhya Pradesh gram increased by Rs. 100/225 per quintal this week and with this increase, the prices at the weekend reached Ashoknagar Rs. 6000/6100, Ganjbasoda Rs. 5700/6100, Sagar Rs. 5800/6050, Katni Rs. 6300/6375 and Indore Rs. 6350/6550 per quintal.
Others
Due to support of all-round rise and strong demand, prices of Raipur gram increased by Rs. 175 per quintal during the current week and with this rise, the prices reached Rs. 6275/6475 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, prices of Kanpur gram increased by Rs. 175 per quintal this week and reached Rs. 6425 per quintal at the weekend.
Gram Dal
Due to bullish support and demand for gram, prices of gram dal have jumped by Rs. 150/300 per quintal during the current week and with this jump, the prices at the weekend became Delhi Rs. 7400/7775, Bhatapara Rs. 7700, Katni Rs. 7375, Gulbarga Rs. 7400/7600, Jalgaon Rs. 7700/8250, Indore Rs. 7350/7500, Jaipur Rs. 7425 and Kanpur Rs. 7300/7350 per quintal.
