Mustard prices rise due to buying by millers and stockists
New Delhi. In view of the increasing tension with Pakistan, the interest of oil millers and traders / stockists in buying mustard in major producing states increased, due to which its price rose by Rs 100-200 per quintal during the week of 3-9 May. Government purchase of mustard is also continuing.
42% condition mustard
During the week under review, the price of 42 percent condition mustard increased by Rs 100-100 in Delhi and Jaipur to Rs 6200 per quintal and Rs 6350/6375 per quintal respectively.
Gujarat
The price of mustard of normal average quality increased by Rs 150 in Deesa, Gujarat and Rs 285 per quintal in Dhanera. Similarly, in various Mandis of Haryana, the price of mustard increased by Rs. 100-150 per quintal, while in Morena, Porsa and Gwalior Mandi of Madhya Pradesh, the price increased by Rs. 150 per quintal. In Hapur Mandi of Uttar Pradesh, the price of mustard improved by Rs. 50 to Rs. 6550 per quintal and in Agra it increased by Rs. 175 to Rs. 6910/7150 per quintal.
Mustard
In the country's most important producing state- Rajasthan, the price of good mustard increased by Rs. 100-200 per quintal, but in Kota it fell by Rs. 100 to Rs. 5700/5900 per quintal and in Bikaner it fell by Rs. 500 to Rs. 4750/5050 per quintal. In Alwar, the price increased by Rs. 200 to Rs. 6200 per quintal and in Bharatpur it increased by Rs. 170 to Rs. 6120 per quintal.
Mustard Oil
Due to the rise in the prices of mustard, the price of mustard oil also jumped. A huge rise of 30 to 60-70 rupees per 10 kg was recorded in it. The price of expeller increased by 35 rupees to 1325 rupees in Delhi, 65 rupees to 1355 rupees in Charkhi Dadri and 70 rupees to 1340 rupees per 10 kg in Ganganagar. In other centers also, a rise of 30 to 50 rupees was recorded.
Arrival
Arrival of mustard in important mandis of major producing states was recorded at 5.50 lakh bags on May 3, 6.25 lakh bags on May 5, 5.25 lakh bags on May 6, 4.25 lakh bags on May 7, 3.50 lakh bags on May 8 and 4.50 lakh bags on May 9, whereas each bag is of 50 kg.
Mustard Cake (DOC)
There was good trading in mustard cake and DOC, which improved its prices. The price of mustard cake increased by Rs 20-30 per quintal and the price of DOC increased by Rs 800 per tonne.
