Mustard prices soften after a long rise

New Delhi. For the last few weeks, mustard was witnessing a rapid rise in the wholesale market and its price jumped to much above the minimum support price (Rs 5950 per quintal) in all the markets. But due to the weakening of buying at very high prices, the price came down, especially in some markets of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. In some places in Haryana and Madhya Pradesh, the prices softened by Rs 50-75. In Kolkata, there was a decline of Rs 150 per quintal.
42% condition mustard
During the week of 19-25 July, the price of 42 percent condition mustard remained stable at the previous level of Rs 7250 per quintal in Delhi, but improved by Rs 25 in Jaipur and reached Rs 7575 per quintal.
Haryana / Madhya Pradesh
The price of normal (average) quality mustard was down by 50-75 rupees in Haryana markets but was up by 150 rupees per quintal in Sirsa. There was a downfall of 50-50 rupees in Morena and Porsa markets of Madhya Pradesh and a rise of 50 rupees in Gwalior market.
Mustard Oil
Due to softening of mustard prices, the price of mustard oil also fell by 1-2 rupees per kg. The price of expeller fell by 10 rupees to 1630 rupees per 10 kg in Delhi and 20 rupees to 1640 rupees per 10 kg in Alwar. On the other hand, the price of Kachi Ghani mustard oil fell by 50 rupees in Hapur to 1760/1820 rupees per 10 kg.
Arrivals
During the week under review, 3 lakh bags of mustard seeds arrived in the domestic markets on July 19, while each bag is of 50 kg. Mustard Cake (DOC)
The business of mustard cake remained somewhat moderate and hence the prices declined by Rs 10-20 per quintal. But there was good buying and selling in DOC.
