Peanut prices soften in UP due to weak trade demand
New Delhi. Despite limited arrivals in the markets, due to weak trade demand, the price of peanuts softened in Mahoba and Mauranipur of Uttar Pradesh (UP), while the price remained stable in Jhansi. Similarly, no fluctuation was seen in the price of peanuts in Gujarat, Jodhpur and Bikaner of Rajasthan and Solapur of Maharashtra.
Arrivals
Daily arrival of peanuts in Rajkot was between 4000 to 8000 bags, while daily supply was recorded between 1000-1500 bags in Jhansi, 650-750 bags in Mahoba and 650-1050 bags in Mauranipur.
Peanuts
The price of peanuts fell by Rs 300 in Mahoba market to Rs 4400/4800 per quintal and by Rs 150 in Mauranipur to Rs 4400/4750 per quintal. In Rajkot, it remained stable at Rs 5000/7500 per quintal.
Peanut seeds
Due to weak business in shellless peanut seeds, stability or softness was seen in the prices. The market remained stable in Bikaner, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jalgaon and Solapur, but in Nagpur, the price of 50/60 count seeds fell by Rs 100 to Rs 10200 per quintal and the price of 60/70 count seeds also fell by Rs 100 to Rs 9600 per quintal.
Groundnut oil
Loose groundnut oil witnessed weak demand due to which its price fell by Rs 10 to Rs 1410/1415 per 10 kg in Rajkot, Gondal, Junagadh and Jamnagar of Gujarat. Similarly, the price of groundnut in 15 kg teliya tin fell by Rs 20 to Rs 2240. The price also fell by Rs 10 per 10 kg in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bikaner and Newai/Tonk.
Branded oil
The price of branded groundnut oil in Kota increased by Rs 50 to Rs 2450 per tin (15 kg). Filtered groundnut oil did not see much demand.
Groundnut oil cake
The business in groundnut oil cake also remained sluggish and prices remained stable. But there was good buying and selling in DOC in which its price increased by Rs 500 to Rs 1500 per ton.
