Pea prices improve due to continued buying

Kanpur. During the current week, the pea market witnessed a bullish trend. Prices remained strong due to the selling in the market calming down and buying increasing. Due to the effect of the ongoing rise in the prices of gram, the trend of dal millers has now started moving towards peas as well, which strengthened the rising prices of peas. The harvesting of the new pea crop is going to start next month in Canada, while advance contracts are already being made. Usually new goods are cheaper, but due to weak export demand, the price of peas of old stock has come to the same level as the new contract price. Yellow peas are running at $ 8–9, Maple peas at $ 13 and green peas at $ 13–14 per bushel. This year, production is expected to increase due to 9% increase in sowing and good crop condition. However, Canada is worried due to 100% import duty by China and falling pulse prices in India. India has extended the duty-free import limit of yellow peas till March 31, 2026, but policy changes are possible in the future. At present, the market is calm and stable, and importers are eyeing the next crop. Due to weakening of selling by importers and increase in buying, the prices of imported peas also increased by Rs 75/100 per quintal during the current week and the price became Mumbai Canada 3550 rupees Russia 3325 rupees and currency Canada 3375/3400 rupees and Russia 3200 rupees per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, the prices of Kolkata peas also improved by Rs 50/75 per quintal this week and the price became Canada 3750 rupees and Russia 3550 rupees per quintal. Due to continued buying, the prices of Kanpur peas increased by Rs 75 per quintal this week and with this increase, the price became Rs 3625/3675 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, prices of Lalitpur peas also saw an improvement of Rs 25/50 per quintal this week and the prices became Rs 3200/3500 per quintal at the weekend. Due to customer support, Orai peas increased by Rs 125 per quintal this week and became Rs 3200/3375 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Mahoba peas also increased by Rs 50 per quintal this week and became Rs 3250/3550 per quintal. Due to support from all-round rise and increase in demand, prices of Madhya Pradesh peas increased by Rs 50/100 per quintal this week and the prices became Rs 3200/3400 for Bina and Rs 3275/350 per quintal at the weekend.

Due to the support of the bullish trend in peas and increased buying, the prices of peas dal have increased by Rs. 100 per quintal during the current week and at the end of the week the prices reached Rs. 3950/4000 in Kanpur and Rs. 4150/4200 per quintal in Indore.
