Soybean prices rise due to better business of oil and DOC

New Delhi. Soybean prices rose by Rs 50-100 per quintal in the three top producing states - Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan during the week of July 12-18 as there was some demand for its oil and DOC and prices remained high abroad as well.
Madhya Pradesh / Rajasthan
In Madhya Pradesh, the plant delivery price of soybean improved and reached a high of Rs 4500 per quintal, while in Maharashtra it was recorded at Rs 4600 per quintal and in Rajasthan at Rs 4700 per quintal. The minimum support price of soybean is Rs 4892 per quintal. NAFED stock is also being sold. The arrival of farmers' goods in the markets is decreasing.
Soy Refined
Due to strengthening of soybean prices, the price of soybean refined oil also registered some rise. Its price increased by Rs 47 to Rs 1215 per 10 kg in a unit in Mandsaur. It is running above Rs 120 per kg in almost all the districts.
Soya Plant
In Maharashtra plants also, the price of soya refined oil increased by Rs 3-4 per kg. Its price increased by Rs 15 to Rs 1225 per 10 kg in Kota, jumped by Rs 50 to Rs 1200 in Mumbai, improved by Rs 10 to Rs 1190 in Kandla and increased by Rs 20 to Rs 1185 per 10 kg in Haldia. The prices of soya oil imported at high prices abroad increased, which gave refiners an opportunity to increase the prices.
Soya DOC
The demand of domestic industries and exporters remained strong in soya DOC, due to which prices increased by Rs 100 to Rs 500 per ton. Soya DOC price improved to Rs. 30000 per tonne.
Sowing
Soyabean sowing has started moving towards its final stage. But there is a difference of about 10 lakh tonnes in the data of the Central Agriculture Ministry and Indore based organization- Soybean Processors Association of India (SOPA) for its area. According to SOPA, soyabean sowing area has increased in the three top producing states. It is believed that the danger for soyabean crop has increased due to torrential rains in various districts of Madhya Pradesh. Similar apprehensions are being expressed for Rajasthan as well.
