Soybean prices improve due to strong demand from crushing units
New Delhi. Soybean sowing at the national level is lagging behind last year and the arrival of old stock in wholesale markets is also decreasing. Due to mustard, there is an atmosphere of boom and strength in the oilseed-oil market. Soy oil prices are strong in supplier countries like Argentina and Brazil. Although the central agency - NAFED is releasing soybean from its stock in the domestic market, but there is a difference in prices.
Plant Delivery Price
During the week of 19-25 July, due to increased demand from crushing-processing units, the plant delivery price of soybean increased by Rs 100-200 per quintal and its price increased to Rs 4450-4600 per quintal in Madhya Pradesh, Rs 4550-4700 per quintal in Maharashtra and Rs 4500-4800 per quintal in Rajasthan.
Soya Oil (Refined)
But the price of Soya Refined Oil did not increase in proportion to the rise in the price of soyabean. In a unit in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, its price improved by Rs. 13 to Rs. 1215 per 10 kg, but in a plant in Pithampur, it fell by Rs. 10 to Rs. 1220 per 10 kg.
Maharashtra
In the plants of Maharashtra also, prices fluctuated by only Rs. 5-10. But its price improved by Rs. 15 to Rs. 1240 per 10 kg in Kota, increased by Rs. 30 to Rs. 1210 in Mumbai and improved by Rs. 5 to Rs. 1215 per 10 kg in Kandla, but fell by Rs. 10 to Rs. 1195 per 10 kg in Haldia.
Soya Cake (DOC)
Domestic and export demand for soya DOC remained strong, due to which a huge increase was recorded in its prices. In a unit of Madhya Pradesh, its price increased by a whopping Rs. 4500 and reached Rs. 32000/35300 per tonne.
Plant Price
In some other plants, the price increased by Rs. 1500 per tonne. In Maharashtra too, its price increased by Rs. 500 to Rs. 2500 per tonne. The off-season of soybean supply has begun. If the upward trend in prices continues, then the enthusiasm and attraction of farmers towards sowing it may increase somewhat.
