Quota
The government has allocated a free sale quota of 21 lakh tonnes of sugar for July, which has not increased much, but due to heavy rains in different parts of the country and falling temperature, its industrial demand and consumption is getting affected. Due to this, a limited up-down environment is being seen in the prices.
Mill Delivery Price
During the week under review, the mill delivery price of sugar softened by Rs 20 in eastern Uttar Pradesh and Rs 5 per quintal in Madhya Pradesh, while it was up by Rs 45 in western Uttar Pradesh and Rs 10 per quintal in Punjab. Sugar prices also increased in Bihar and Gujarat.

Supply and availability
The situation of supply and availability of sugar remains normal. It is understood that some stock will remain from the 10 lakh tonnes of sugar export quota fixed by the government for the marketing season of 2024-25. Because its actual shipment is not likely to be more than 7-8 lakh tonnes. Here, about one lakh tonnes of sugar could not be sold even from the quota fixed for the month of June. Overall, the price of sugar remains stable with limited fluctuations in the domestic market.
