NASS Crop Progress data showed that 95% of the U.S. winter wheat crop had headed by Sunday, 4% ahead of the normal pace. Harvest progress reached 25%, well ahead of the 13% average. Good-to-excellent ratings improved by 2% to 27%, and the Brugler500 Index gained 4 points to 267. The average rating across the five major Hard Red Winter (HRW) wheat states increased by 2 points to 213, while Soft Red Winter (SRW) wheat states averaged 357, down 5 points. Major white wheat states declined 6 points to 367.
The spring wheat crop was 95% emerged, 6% ahead of the average pace. About 6% of the crop had headed, 1 percentage point ahead of normal. Spring wheat condition ratings improved by 3% to 55% good-to-excellent, with the Brugler500 Index rising 2 points to 352. Improvements were recorded in Minnesota (+14), Montana (+4), and Idaho (+3), while most other states reported weaker conditions. North Dakota experienced the largest decline, down 4 points.
According to European Commission data, European Union wheat exports from July 1 through June 14 totaled 22.38 MMT, up 1.44 MMT from the same period a year earlier.
