Commitment of Traders data showed speculative funds adding 3,900 contracts to their net short position in Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) wheat futures and options, bringing the net short to 85,655 contracts. In Kansas City Board of Trade (KC) wheat, managed money added 10,652 contracts to increase the net short to 19,496 contracts.
USDA Export Sales data showed wheat export commitments at 22.467 MMT, up 16% from last year. This equals 92% of USDA’s annual export projection, in line with the 93% average pace.
South Korean mills purchased 50,000 MT of U.S. wheat and 40,000 MT of Canadian wheat. According to FranceAgriMer, France’s soft wheat crop is rated 91% good/excellent, while 87% of the durum crop is in good/excellent condition. Russia’s 2026 wheat crop is estimated at 91 MMT by IKAR, up 3 MMT from the previous estimate.
