USDA Export Sales data showed net cancellations of 642,239 MT of wheat for the 2025/26 marketing year during the week ending May 28. The marketing year officially concluded on Sunday.
The Philippines recorded net cancellations of 224,100 MT, while reductions totaled 155,200 MT for unknown destinations and 104,900 MT for Japan.
New-crop wheat sales for 2026/27 reached 838,507 MT, suggesting that some canceled old-crop sales were likely rolled into the new marketing year. South Korea was the largest buyer with 202,100 MT, followed by the Philippines with 156,000 MT and unknown destinations with 154,300 MT.
The Buenos Aires Grain Exchange reported that Argentina’s wheat planting is 32.4% complete, significantly ahead of the five-year average of 20%.
