Haryana Hits Record Levels
★ From April 1 to May 14, 2025, Haryana procured a total of 74.95 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) of wheat — the highest in the past four years.
★ Out of this, 72.90 LMT was procured for the central pool and 2.05 LMT for the Public Distribution System (PDS).
★ So far, 73.03 LMT of wheat has been lifted in the state, accounting for 97.40% of total procurement.
★ The state had set a target of 75 LMT this year, which has nearly been achieved.

Positive Numbers from Punjab, Final Data Awaited
★ As of May 12, 2025, Punjab had procured around 118 LMT of wheat against a target of 124 LMT.
★ Analysts at I-Grain India believe that the final figure could cross 120 LMT once all data is in.

Very Low Procurement in Bihar
★ Bihar had set a modest wheat procurement target of 2 LMT this season but managed to purchase only 16,000 tonnes.
★ At the beginning of the season, based on early trends, it was estimated that government wheat procurement might reach 320 LMT nationwide.
★ However, it now seems even reaching 310 LMT could be a challenge.
