Agriculture Minister submits report to Home Minister on damage to crops in Andhra Pradesh

New Delhi. The Union Agriculture Minister has prepared a detailed report and submitted it to the Home Minister on the heavy damage to Kharif crops, properties and infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh due to torrential rains and severe floods.

It is noteworthy that the Agriculture Minister had recently visited the flood-affected areas of this southern state to obtain important information at the initial level so that the actual situation of damage to crops and properties could be ascertained.

According to the Union Agriculture Minister, he has submitted his report to the Home Minister and it is expected that the central team will soon visit the flood-affected areas and the Central Government will also not delay in providing financial assistance to Andhra Pradesh.

It is worth noting that heavy rains and floods in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are expected to cause extensive damage to Kharif crops, which include paddy as well as cotton, pulses and oilseeds crops.

Under flood relief assistance, Rs 3448 crore has been sanctioned for these two states so that immediate help can be provided to the affected people. Red chilli and turmeric crops have also been partially damaged due to floods and rains in Andhra-Telangana.

The central government has assured to provide adequate assistance to these two states. Andhra Pradesh remains a very important state for the central government, so the government cannot ignore it.
