Brasilia. In Brazil, the world's leading soybean producer and exporter country located in the continent of South America, the sowing area and production of this important oilseed is expected to increase to a new historical record level once again in the 2025-26 season.
Soybean sowing will start there from next month (September), while its harvesting and preparation will start in January-February next year. Farmers are excited by getting better returns and they can make a strong effort to increase the production area of soybean.
If the weather and rainfall conditions remain favorable in Mato Grosso, Brazil's most prominent agricultural producer state, soybean sowing can start from September 7.
In the second major producing state Parana, the sowing process is likely to start at different times in different areas. Somewhere it can start from September 1 and somewhere from September 20.
According to a leading analyst, this time the soybean area in Brazil may increase less compared to previous years. Its area is expected to increase by 2 percent but production is expected to jump to an all-time high of 1730 lakh tons.
The estimated data of sowing area and production will be released in the October report by CONAB, a subordinate of the Central Government.
Meanwhile, various associations, organizations and institutions have declared their own estimates about soybean. According to the Mato Grosso Agricultural Economic Institute, the soybean sowing area in the state may increase by 1.67 percent and reach 130.80 lakh hectares. Another institution has expressed the possibility of an increase of 1.2 percent in the area.
An analyst firm says that this time the soybean sowing area in Brazil will increase the least after 2006-07 and hence its total production may reach 1665.60 lakh tons.
On the other hand, another organization has predicted a 2 percent increase in soybean sowing area and 5.6 percent increase in production, due to which the production can reach 1782 lakh tons.
The US Department of Agriculture has predicted a 2.9 percent increase in soybean sowing area in Brazil during the 2025-26 season, and its total production is estimated to increase by 3.5 percent to reach 1750 lakh tons.
