★ China launches anti-dumping investigation into Canadian pea starch
★ China’s Ministry of Commerce on Tuesday initiated an anti-dumping investigation into pea starch imported from Canada. The probe will last for one year and could be extended for an additional six months.
★ Earlier, China announced preliminary anti-dumping duties on Canadian canola imports, marking another escalation in the year-long trade dispute that began last August when Canada imposed tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles.
★ China may reduce its pea imports from Canada, as it has increased imports from Russia over the past three years. This could leave India as the main buyer for Canadian peas. Following this news, international pea prices may see a decline.
