Burma - Urad and Tur Markets Update
★ In recent months, the prices of Burma Urad have witnessed significant fluctuations.
★ SQ grade prices, which had earlier touched $1200/MT, have now consistently declined and stabilized between $880–$890/MT.
★ FAQ grade prices have followed a similar trend and are currently trading between $860–$870/MT.
★ The major reason behind the decline is the record production of Urad in Burma, leading to increased competition among exporters.
★ Similarly, Burma Tur Lemon prices have also seen a sharp fall.
★ Prices that had earlier peaked at $1450/MT have now dropped to around $770–$775/MT.
★ The decline is primarily due to the arrival of the new season crop and increased global supply.
★ According to IGrain India, significant changes in prices are unlikely in the near future.
★ Despite large-scale exports of Urad and Tur from Myanmar, the availability remains good due to higher production levels.
