Call for mandi closure in Rajasthan till Sunday in protest against user charges
★ The Rajasthan Foodgrains Trade Association has issued a notice to keep all mandis in the state closed until Sunday in protest against the newly imposed user charges.
★ At the association’s general meeting, attended by over 1,000 traders, members opposed the state government’s decision of August 13, 2025, to levy a user charge of 50 paise per hundred on foodgrains.
★ The trade association stated that this charge will adversely affect business in the state and shift trade to other states.
★ The letter mentioned that all 247 mandis in the state will remain closed till Sunday.
