Canada Pulses Market Update – May 30, 2025
Peas
★ Canadian pea producers and exporters are closely watching India, where the duty-free import window ends on May 31, 2025, with only 2 days remaining.
★ Compared to last week, yellow peas are priced at \$9.5–10/bushel and green peas at \$16/bushel FOB farm.
★ New crop prices: green peas at \$13–13.5/bushel, yellow peas at \$9/bushel.
★ Due to tariffs imposed by Canada, farmer interest in peas has declined.
★ Pea sowing in Canada is in its final stages. Final figures will be released soon.
★ As of May 26, pea planting progress reached 98%.

★ Lentil planting reached 95% completion by May 26, also in its final stages.
★ Recent rains in some areas post-sowing have benefitted the crop, while others remain dry.
★ Lentil acreage is expected to increase this year.

★ Market activity remains slow, with fewer deals reported in the past two weeks.
★ Acreage is expected to increase, leading to higher availability.
★ The U.S. has also reported an increase in acreage.
