Decline in Wheat Prices
★ The price of MP New Wheat in Delhi was Rs. 3120 on March 10, 2025, which dropped to Rs. 3040 on March 15, 2025.
★ Similarly, in Bulandshahr, wheat prices were Rs. 3000 on March 10, 2025, which fell to Rs. 2900 by Saturday.
★ Reasons for Price Decline are better Crop Production and arrival of the new crop.
★ New crop arrivals have begun in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Rajasthan.
★ Bonus on MSP announced by MP and Rajasthan, which may impact prices in neighboring states.
★ Higher arrivals in markets may lead to further price decline, but millers’ pipelines are currently empty, which could increase wheat sales and purchases.
★ Wheat MSP is Rs. 2425, but in the past three years, government procurement has been low as market prices remained above MSP.
★ Due to low stock, the government made limited sales under the OMSS (Open Market Sale Scheme).
★ Despite higher supply this year, government procurement may be challenging.
★ Wheat prices may continue to decline, but increased demand from millers could lead to an active trade market.
